Dr. Charles M. Hubbard received his Ph.D. in American Diplomatic History from the University of Tennessee. He is the Director of the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum and Professor of History at Lincoln Memorial University. He has written and edited six books including: Corregidor: In Peace and War, forthcoming from University of Missouri Press, 2007; Historic Reflections on U.S. Governance and Civil Society, De La Salle University Press; The Burden of Confederate Diplomacy, University of Tennessee press; Lincoln Reshapes the Presidency, Mercer University Press; Lincoln and His Contemporaries, Mercer University Press; and The Many Faces of Lincoln, Mayhaven Press. He has written articles for various academic publications including "The Confederate Lobby and the Blockade Debate of 1862" in the Journal of Civil War History and "Lincoln and the Chicken Bone Case" in American History Magazine.
Currently, Dr. Hubbard is working on Lincoln and the Struggle For Command due out from Greenwood Press in 2010.
Dr. Hubbard is a Senior Fulbright Scholar and was named a John Nicholas Brown Fellow in 1997 by Brown University.
