Harold Holzer is considered one of top authorities on "Lincoln and the political culture." He has authored, co-authored and edited 34 books on Lincoln and his times. In addition to serving as co-chairman of the ALBC, Mr. Holzer serves as Vice-Chairman of The Lincoln Forum and as an historical advisor to the new Gettysburg National Military Park Visitor Center, the U.S.S. Monitor Center at the Mariners Museum, and the Tredegar National Civil War Museum in Richmond, VA.
He also serves as Guest historian for the 2008 exhibition "Lincoln and New York" and is a winner of many major awards, including the 2006 Lincoln Prize; Barondess Awards; award of achievement from the Lincoln Group of Washington, Peekskill, and New York; Nevins-Freeman Award; Bell I. Wiley Award; and the National Humanities Medal from the President of the United States.
