Lincoln Street School in Exeter, NH had an all-school assembly on February 12 to celebrate the bicentennial of Abe Lincoln's birth. The portrait in the background was painted by a guest artist at a previous assembly provided by our PTO. All 500 children at our school made top hats for the bicentennial assembly.

Ten fifth grade students prepared a human timeline of Lincoln's life. Some fourth grade students prepared the powerpoint which accompanied the timeline. Activities will continue as we work with the Exeter Historical Society commemorating Lincoln's campaign visit to Exeter in 1860 when he was also able to visit his son, Robert Todd Lincoln, at Philips Exeter Academy.
