Lincoln and the Morrill Act:  The Unfinished Work of Public Universities

Watch it Live! - October 23-24, 2009

In conjunction with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and with the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, the ALBC invites you to participate in a national conference about Lincoln's Morrill Act of 1862.

The Morrill Act has made profound contributions to the nation's well-being over the past 147 years.  Implementation of this legislation expanded access to higher education beyond the confines of a priviledged few to the nation's citizenry at large.

The conference will also feature an exhibition of the original Morrill Act, signed by Lincoln, at the Krannert Art Museum and Kincaid Pavillion on the campus of UofI.
