The Little Orchestra Society invites you to celebrate the Bicentennial of the birth of Abraham Lincoln with music inspired by his life, times and achievements. These concerts are part of the Happy Concerts for Young People series (for children ages 6 – 12 and families).
The Little Orchestra Society, conducted by Dino Anagnost, will be joined by narrator James Earl Jones, violinist and composer Mark O’Connor, and student violinists from Opus 118 Harlem School of Music. The program includes Aaron Copeland’s Lincoln Portrait, the New York premiere of Peter Schickele’s Lincoln at Ease, original works by Mark O’Connor, and music of Lincoln’s time, all enhanced by a large scale multimedia presentation created by radio personality and concert producer Elliott Forrest.
