Forbes House Museum Annual Lincoln Celebration The Forbes House Museum’s annual tradition of celebrating Lincoln’s Birthday will begin on Februray 8, 2009, with Civil War Reenactors from the Massachusetts 22nd, 29th, and the 54th. A living history team portraying President Lincoln and Mary Todd, period music, hot chocolate and selections from the Museum’s Lincoln Collection will fill the day. The public event creating the opportunity to increase ones knowledge and awarness of our 16th President. The museum will also present a series of three lecture/discussion events during its Lincoln Bicentennial season. The Annual Essay/Drawing contest for grades K thru 8 will expand this Bicenntennial year to include grades K thru 12. The awards ceremoney will be in April 2009. The essay encourages research and promotes an understanding of Lincoln.
