Global Essay Contest: Looking for Your Lincoln Hero In celebration of Lincoln's 200th Birthday next year, the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area and MyHero.com launched an essay contest offering young people an opportunity to submit their thoughts describing who in their life inspires them most like Lincoln. With study guides and reading lists, the essayists have been asked to write about the person in their life that they identify as having Lincolnesque characteristics such as courage, perseverance, integrity, compassion and strong leadership.
