  • The Oklahoma History Center will host a "Tribute to the Legacy of Abraham Lincoln." The evening will start with a social hour, followed by dinner and a presentation by Dr. Bob Blackburn, director of the Oklahoma Historical Society, and Scott Momaday, Kiowa and Pulitzer Prize winning author. After an intermission, Dr. Rufus Fears from the University of Oklahoma will present a tribute to Lincoln's legacy to freedom. The evening will conclude with a performance by the Oklahoma Philharmonic Orchestra, which will play two musical tributes to Lincoln.
  • Teacher resources include a one-hour dvd featuring Dr. Rufus Fears and his presentation on Lincoln and Freedom.  Additional materials connect teachers to Lincoln's legacy with the Oklahoma themes of Civil War, Emancipation, All-Black Towns, the Land Runs and Civil Rights issues of the 20th century.
